Hot Sauce Summer Spicy Mango Margaritas!

This “Hot Sauce Summer Spicy Mango Margaritas!” post is sponsored by El Yucateco. All recipes, images, and opinions are my own.

How do you “own” the Summer months? Do you travel? Do you hit the local beaches? Or are you more of a stay at home, poolside kind of person?

Here in Scottsdale, it’s kind of mandatory to get out of the heat and travel to some of the “cooler” places around the world, in every sense of the word. Our family takes big trips every other year, so this is a stay at home, poolside year for us, and we’re ready for it!

The pool and jacuzzi heaters are off, the umbrellas are up, and the margaritas are mixing!

Arizona is full of amazing Mexican and Latino markets and restaurants, so we have full access to the best Southwest ingredients around! The mangoes are sweet, the tequila is smooth, and the hot sauce is SMOKIN', so today I’m making myself a spicy mango margarita with some El Yucateco hot sauce!

I’m so happy to be partnering with El Yucateco for their “Hot Sauce Summer” celebration because they’re EVERYONE’S hot sauce – not just a Mexican Hot Sauce! El Yucateco is also the #1 habanero sauce in the US, and ranks in the top 10 of all hot sauces in the US! You can see for yourself at: www.shopelyucateco.com

Their Sauces are made from the whole fruit of the pepper, they are non-vinegar based and they don’t use the capsaicin extract. They focus on talking about flavor, NOT heat. Bottom line: FLAVOR, FLAVOR, FLAVOR, so it’s a perfect match with some sweet mango nectar and some smooth, crisp tequila!

I started off by making a yummy rim dressing with some chili seasoning, lime salt and sugar.

I filled my shaker with lots of ice, and then four ounces of tequila. I followed up with four ounces of triple sec, and then I filled the rest of my shaker up with some rich, sweet mango nectar.

Next was the best part…I added a healthy teaspoon of the El Yucateco Chile Habanero Hot Sauce for some heat and depth! I squeezed a lime in to finish, and then I gave it a good toss in my shaker.

The result was AMAZING! It made two perfectly full margaritas in my best glasses, which I garnished with a lime wedge, a Grand Mariner float, and just another splash of that El Yucateco Hot sauce! They were perfectly balanced, with the right amount of heat, sweet and spirit!

These are definitely going to be a staple at all our summer float days and poolside gatherings! If you’re in Phoenix, be sure to get down to your local Food City grocery store to pick up some El Yucateco hot sauce, or shop on their website at: www.shopelyucateco.com.

Now…who’s bringing the tacos, so we can cover EVERYTHING in some El Yucateco?!

Hot Sauce Summer Spicy Mango Margaritas

Prep Time: 5 minutes / Cook Time: 0 minutes / Servings: 2

Ingredients:

2 tsp. El Yucateco Chile Habanero Hot Sauce

4 oz. Tequila

4 oz. Triple Sec

4 oz. mango nectar

2 limes

2 oz. Grand Marnier

2 tbsp. Chili seasoning

2 tbsp. Lime salt

2 tbsp. Sugar

2 cups of ice

Steps:

  1. To make the rim dressing, combine the sugar, chili seasoning, and lime salt onto a plate or other flat surface. Line the rim of a margarita glass with lime juice, and dip the top of the glass in the sugar mixture to coat the rim.

  2. Fill a 16 ounce cocktail shaker with ice. Add the tequila, triple sec, and mango nectar.

  3. Add in a healthy teaspoon of the El Yucateco Chile Habanero Hot Sauce.

  4. Squeeze the juice of a lime into the mixture, cover the shaker with the top, and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until cold and combined. Pour the mixture evenly into two rimmed margarita glasses.

  5. Add a splash of Grand Marnier and another splash of El Yucateco Hot Sauce to finish. Garnish with a lime and serve.
